A survey of religion in North America, from colonization to the present, with attention to the ways that religion has shaped American history, culture, politics, and more.  We'll examine the interplay of church and state, faith and skepticism, assimilation and particularity, as well as the role of religion in various wars and social movements, such as abolitionism, feminism, and civil rights.
