QSS 81 Major Thesis Research

This course is part of the two-track major in QSS. Students in the honors thesis track of the major register for QSS 81 in the fall quarter of their fourth year. Participating in this course requires thesis research and engagement during the fall, winter, and spring terms of a student's last academic year on campus. Students applying to write an honors thesis in QSS should have at time of application an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher. 

Students registering for QSS 81 receive a grade of “ON” (ongoing) at the end of the fall term.  A final letter grade will replace the “ON” at the end of the term at which a student’s thesis is completed.  Students who wish to receive two credits for honors thesis research register for QSS 81 in the fall and then for QSS 88 in either the following winter or spring.
