GEOG 61.01 Hydroclimatology
Interactions between energy and water shape the natural environment and society. This course
will examine the spatial and temporal dynamics of the hydrologic cycle, focusing on radiative
and turbulent fluxes, precipitation, evapotranspiration, vegetation, soil moisture, runoff, and
anthropogenic influences. Lectures will introduce key topics, followed by student-led
discussions of relevant journal articles, and a research project will allow students to apply the
concepts learned in class to a topic of interest.
