BIOL 29 Biostatistics
The course will cover basic descriptive statistics, simple probability theory, the fundamentals of statistical inference, regression and correlation, t-tests, one-way analysis of varience, basic analyses of frequency data and non-parametric statistics, and the general philosophy of experimental design. We will explore these topics from the perspective of biological applications. Examples will be drawn from all sub-disciplines of biology (e.g. biochemical kinetics, development, physiology, ecology, and evolution).
